High-Efficiency Vacuum Oil Purifier (VOP-H Series)

Higher flow rate, deeper dehydration for continuous-duty operation

Built for high-flow continuous service. Multi-stage vacuum dehydration with heater and fine filter achieves 30 ppm water and NAS 5 cleanliness.

  • NAS 5 and 30 ppm water at a flow the standard VOP cannot hold
  • Residence time is bought with stages, not with vessel volume
  • Heater and vacuum pump sized for 24-hour duty

What it removes

The VOP-H is the continuous-duty version of the vacuum series. It removes free and emulsified water, dissolved gas and fine particulate from hydraulic, turbine and lube oils, and it holds 30 ppm water with NAS 5 cleanliness at a flow rate the standard VOP cannot sustain. The difference is not a better filter; it is that the vacuum stage is staged.

How it works

Dehydration happens in more than one vacuum chamber in series, with a heater between them and a fine filter at the outlet. Each stage drops the water content further, so the oil reaches 30 ppm without being held in a single chamber long enough to require a larger vessel. That is what makes the higher flow rate possible at the same footprint: residence time is bought with stages rather than with volume. Continuous duty also means the heater and the vacuum pump are sized for 24-hour operation, not for a shift.

Where it is used

Anywhere the oil volume is large enough that treating it off-line would take too long. A steel mill that separated 2.2 tonnes of water from its oil-film bearing oil in a single day is the case this series was built for. A power station running No.46 turbine oil with a leaking shaft seal needs the water removed as fast as it ingresses. High-flow lube systems on continuous casters and rolling stands fall in the same bracket.

Options and service

Skid-mounted or containerised. On-line connection with automatic water-in-oil monitoring. Spare heater and pump sets held as line items, because a continuous-duty unit that stops is a production stop.

Common questions

Why does this series reach 30 ppm where the standard VOP stops at 50?

Because dehydration is split across several vacuum stages with a heater between them, so the oil does not have to sit in one chamber long enough to need a larger vessel.

Can it run continuously?

Yes. The heater and the vacuum pump are sized for 24-hour operation, not for a single shift.

Where is it normally specified?

High-flow lube and turbine oil systems where offline treatment cannot keep up, such as oil-film bearing circuits on steel mills.
