Vacuum pump oil changed out repeatedly — domestic appliance manufacturer
Water content was over limit often enough that the oil was replaced again and again. Treatment reached NAS 3 and 39 ppm.
Challenge
Vacuum pump oil at a domestic appliance manufacturer ran over its water limit often enough that the oil had to be changed out again and again. The oil was not wearing out: it was taking on water faster than it could be replaced economically, and every change was a stoppage plus a drum.
Solution
Nano ultra-clean screening purification equipment, treating the oil in service so that the water is taken out at the rate it comes in. Vacuum dehydration does the water; the membrane holds the cleanliness, because a pump oil that is dry but dirty still wears the pump.
Outcome
Cleanliness reached NAS 3 and water content came down to 39 ppm. The oil stopped being a consumable bought on a calendar and became a charge that is maintained -- which is the whole argument for treating pump oil instead of replacing it.
