2.2 tonnes of water separated in a single day — oil-film bearing oil, south-west China

Mobil 525 oil-film bearing oil at a steel plant in south-west China took in a large quantity of water -- enough that an oil change was neither economic nor practical. On a bearing circuit of that size there is no spare tank to swap into, and every day the oil ran wet was a day the bearings ran without the film they need.

Nano ultra-clean screening purification equipment, treating the oil in place. The unit was sized to the water load rather than to the tank volume, because on an ingress event the rate at which water can be removed is what decides how long the oil stays outside specification.

2.2 tonnes of water was separated out within a single day. That figure is the whole case: it is the weight of water that would otherwise have gone through the bearings, and it was removed without draining a charge that could not practically be replaced.
